Ever since the kids were little, our family motto has been, "Hamblins can do hard things." Well, with 2 months notice, our family moved from Virginia to Frankfurt. As you can imagine, it was a whirlwind of decisions, packing, tears, hotel living, goodbyes, and excitement/trepidation as we made the move into the unknown! 6 months into the adventure, it has definitely been a "hard thing," but we are already starting to settle and find things we enjoy.
One of our first stops: downtown Frankfurt

We're still figuring out the metro system :)

Rather than fight the jet lag, we succumbed, and held a 1 am pizza party!

The kids started school our 2nd day here, amid the chaos of jet lag, the lack of our stuff (good thing we got 14 suitcases to cram backpacks and lunch boxes, among other things, in!), and just being completely disoriented. Yes, they are pretty much rock stars. Here's to KG, 2nd, 4th and 6th grades in a new country!

The day our air freight arrived was a day of much rejoicing!

Don't worry, if you need a bandaid, we've got you covered. If you need, let's say a cheese grater, you're out of luck! I've got to get better at packing out...
